Monday Monday
I love Mondays...I get to work from home and spend time with Cohen. It was gorgeous outside today so I set up my command station (aka computer and table) outside. Halfway through the day I decided to blow up Cohen's mushroom pool...after a lot of huffin' and puffin' I got it blown up. I didn't put any water in it since he can't sit up yet but i propped him up against his boppy and threw a few toys in. Cohen was in heaven. Stu came home for lunch and played with us too...what a fun day.
I love my boys...
On Sunday we packed up and went to the park for the afternoon. When we pulled up Cohen started crying and crying and crying...I couldn't do anything to stop it. Obviously it was loud because a few people packed up their blankets and moved...Ooops! Oh well more room for us and our 500 baby items. This is something I'm still adjusting to...hauling everything but the kitchen sink every time we go out with baby. For some reason it seems like we always remember all the junk...you know the 5 Dr. Seuss toys...8 rattles just in case he gets tired of the first 7, but we always seem to forget the important things...like the diapers. Well at least with all the other junk we're hauling around he'll be happy while sitting in his poopy.
I couldn't have asked for a better day. Like always I took a ba-jillion pictures so here ya go:
Cohen was sportin' his Purdue Hat....daddy's so proud.

This face melts my heart.
My two favorite people in the world:
daddy's relaxing with his book:
Tub Time!!
Cohen went from hating bath time to loving everything about bath time. I can't wait until he can sit up on his own and splash around...right now I do it for him and he just laughs. Cute pics of Mr. Cohen:

Zingers!
Stu and I have what we call Zingers and we kinda keep score on who got who best. Here's a good one that happened a few weeks ago:
Let me set the scene:
4:00PM - I'm picking up the house. There is stuff everywhere...mainly Stu's stuff. shoes shoes shoes and more shoes. Did I mention shoes? Some clothes...some cups on the coffee table...ooooh receipts. I've never met anyone who holds onto receipts like Stu. I find them everywhere. ...and his socks...those get stuffed everywhere too like down in the sofa cusions...under the TV console...on the kitchen table...on the floor...everywhere. I'm begining to get frustrated since I had just picked up everything the night before.
5:30PM - Stu comes in from work and I am in the kitchen cooking dinner and attempting to keep Cohen occupied.
STU: How was your day?
ME: It was good. How was your day?
STU: Busy
ME: Mine too. When I got home from work I went up stairs took off my clothes and searched everywhere for "it" but I wouldn't find "it."
STU: (look of confusion) Looked for what?
ME: I searched my arms, legs, my head...maybe it was on my back and I didn't see it. (lift up back of shirt) Do you see it?
STU: (Stu is looking at my back) What am I looking for?
ME: The word "Maid" (big smile)
STU: (Smiling) HA....that's funny. Where on my body does it say "Complaint Department"
LOL!! He got me good.

First week back at work
(Cohen first day without me - heading to the babysitter's house.)
I survived my first week back at work. The first day went like this:
5:00AM - Jump on elliptical for 30 minutes
5:35AM - Get Cohen up (I cry) change his diaper (crying), put on his outfit (still crying)
5:40AM - Nurse Cohen (pull myself together)
6:10AM - Get Stu's lunch together (cry) and pack up diaper bag (crying hard)
6:20AM - Play with Cohen and kiss him like 100 times (Cohen starts crying from too many kisses)
6:30AM - Pull it together for 5 seconds before I start crying again as I kiss him and Stu goodbye.
After Stu and Cohen left I jumped in the shower to get ready for the rest of my day. My mind was everywhere. All I thought about was Cohen. Will he sleep enough? Will he eat enough? Will he get played with enough?
I put my clothes on for work, which I will admit it felt REALLY good to slip into my stiletto heels. Being a mom with a new baby...sexy is not a word I would use to describe how I felt for the past 10 weeks. For the first time in 10 weeks I felt sexy. No t-shirts...no pajama pants....no greasy hair hidden behind a ball cap....no baby spit up on my shirt. I hadn't worn heels in about 9 months so I about killed myself in them while blow drying my hair. I even thought I'm either going to die of a broken heart or death by a stiletto.
On the way to work I just cranked up the music in my car to keep my mind off Cohen and sang. Stevie Wonder - Superstition is what blared in my car.
Stu bought me a digital picture frame for my desk at work so as soon as I walked in I got it all set up so I could watch videos and picture slides of Cohen all day. I was insanely busy at work so my day went fast and I didn't have a lot of time to focus on missing Cohen.
Honestly being back at work felt great. I love Cohen & Stu more than anything, but I really love my career too and juggling both is gonna be an adventure.

Mardi Gras 2010
I wasn't sure how having a newborn and celebrating Mardi Gras this year was going to work, but it was AWESOME!! We celebrated at 4 parades....Krewe of Little Rascals (children's parade)...Endymion, Zulu, and Rex. It was cold this year, but we just bundled up Cohen and he didn't even seem to notice it was cold outside.
Stu's friend TA threw an Endymion party at his house in Mid-City and on our way there Cohen had a blow out (Poo Poo everywhere) so we had to stop at the mall because traffic was too bad to go to our house, and buy him some new duds. I learned to make sure he ALWAYS has an extra set of clothes in his diaper bag...I'm still learning =)
Here are some pics: (no pics from Endymion....we grabbed the camera, but forgot the battery) Oh...the joys of being a new parent!

Valentine's Day
We had fun celebrating Valentine's Day with Cohen. We went to the mall and bought him a couple Dr. Seuss outfits and then headed over to Borders and hung out in the children's section for awhile. Cohen had a good time!

Cohen at 2 months
Mr. Cohen - you bring so much joy to your mom and dad and you don't even know it yet. Here is what you are doing at 2 months.
- you have made it VERY clear you don't like baths. You scream and your face turns red.
- you are beginning to like the car seat.
- your favorite binky is the "mam" one and I finally found another one today. I have been looking hard.
- you are happy the majority of the time. You only seem to cry when you are tired.
- you sleep about 7 hours straight at night on average.
- you love your snuggie.
- you love your bouncy seat. I put you in it one day because I had to pee really bad and needed a quick spot to stick you. I figured you were still too young to use...boy was I wrong. It is your favorite thing, Your face lights up every time you get in it.
- your head control is amazing.
- you love to lay in your crib and laugh at me and your bumble bee mobile.
- you have been skyping with mimi and gramps.
- you took your first trip to Indiana
- you laugh
- you mimic my facial expressions
- you got your shots....that was a rough night for you.
- you weigh 13.9 pounds - you nurse A LOT!!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Stu!!
Every year Stu reminds me for weeks about his half birthday. This year he decided to start reminding me about it for two weeks. Everyday he would ask "Do you know what February 3rd is?" I always responded "I refuse to acknowledge a half birthday." This year I already knew I was going to do something special and surprise him....so for two weeks I blew off his reminders. Well...the day of his half birthday he failed to mention the day at all to me, which worked out perfectly. He got busy with work and just forgot about it. Cohen and I decorated the house, bought him a gift and cupcakes. We had so much fun....and Stu was SO SURPRISED when he walked in the door and saw us in our party hats. I think we might keep this as a tradition for our kids. It was a lot of fun.

Cohen goes to Church...a STINKY situation.
We waited until Cohen was 6 weeks old to take him to church because I was nervous about him getting sick. We go to a Vineyard Church which is HUGE and has a lot of children. The week before we took him to church I went and bought him a new outfit, which I'll post pics of later.
I was nervous that Sunday morning because I knew I wasn't going to put him in the nursery yet so that meant I would be holding him the entire service. I made sure I packed enough milk for a week! He was so good in church. He loved the music, which is one of my favorite things about Vineyard Churches...the music is always over the top. There was one issue with Cohen at church....he had GAS....BAD! It was loud and extremely stinky and seemed to linger. I felt sorry for Stu because I know no one sitting around us believed this little baby or his mommy was rippin' the farts....the only one to blame and be disgusted with was Stuart.

Nicholas Cage at the art museum!
I've been begging Stu to go to the New Orleans Art Museum for a couple weeks now. They have a Disney exhibit...and me being a HUGE Disney fan....I wanted to see it so badly. We went last Saturday with Cohen. The Exhibit was AMAZING. Of course they had a huge display of the Princess and the Frog since it is based out of New Orleans. Anyway....Stu and I were standing looking at a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs image. There was a guy and his wife and son standing next to us. We glanced over at the guy in the white t-shirt....turned back around and then all of a sudden it clicked...the guy standing next to us in the gallery was Nicholas Cage. He was there with his wife and son.
A few months ago at work my co-worker invited me to run over to PJ's coffee house with her in the morning to grab a cup of coffee, but I was busy working and didn't go. She came back and rubbed it in my face that Nicholas Cage was in PJ's. So I guess he's around the city quite a lot.
I've never lived anywhere where you see movie stars so it's neat because movie stars are always in the this city. They shoot a lot of films here. They are getting ready to shoot Green Lantern so some of Stu's buddies are going to hang out around the set to see Blake Lively...LOL!!
